Shown here is our Poplar Frame with MDF Panel Shaker BeadBoard cabinet door. This door uses a Poplar wood frame and an economical MDF Bead Board center panel. This allows for a very durable door frame while providing an economical alternative to veneer panels or solid wood panels. This combination is a great choice for those who require more durability or for larger size doors that may contain multiple hinges. MDF is medium-density fiberboard. It has become a very popular composite material in recent years. MDF is uniform, very dense, smooth and free of knots and grain patterns, and makes an excellent substitute for solid wood. MDF is used for baseboards, crown mouldings, interior doors, and cabinet doors. It is an excellent material for painting because there is no woodgrain showing through or knots that bleed through the finish. MDF is made up of wood particles and resin. The particles are separated uniformly to make a fine, consistent material that is cooked and pressure steamed. The material is then bound with an adhesive and heat pressed to produce a solid board with many of the same qualities of natural wood, but without many of natural wood’s limitations. MDF is recommended for painting. Shown here is just one style of  Shaker BeadBoard cabinet door that we offer. This style of shaker door features 2 1/4” wide stiles and rails. Other stile and rail widths can be produced using this style of cabinet door.
